Are you in need of a sewer camera inspection?
Sewer camera inspection services by Western Septic & Excavation are a valuable tool in properly diagnosing sewer or drain problems. We use a special camera attached to a fiber optic cable to view to inside of a sewer or drain pipe. If a problem is seen, the exact location can be pinpointed by a special locator that reads a signal emitted from the camera head. The video footage can be recorded and saved to a DVD or thumb drive for future use.
Sewer camera inspections can save you money!
Did you know that having Western Septic & Excavation perform a sewer camera inspection can actually save you money? It’s true! Many people spend hundreds of dollars having their sewer or drains cleaned periodically due to a small problem that could be easily repaired. However, most plumbers don’t have sewer camera inspection equipment, so they will often just tell their customers that there are “roots in the line” and that the line will need to be cleaned annually. By having an inspection performed, the true cause of the repeated sewer backup will usually be visible. The problem can often be something as simple as a single joint in the pipe that is allowing roots to grow, or a gas line or sprinkler pipe that has been bored or trenched through the sewer line. Repairing this simple problem can eliminate further issues.
Another way a sewer camera inspection help you save money is by allowing us to pinpoint the exact location of a broken spot or other problem and find an appropriate solution. Many people have paid thousands of dollars to have their entire sewer replaced, when a sewer camera inspection would have shown that only a small section needed to be repaired. Sewer camera inspections allow us to provide a more accurate and cost-effective quote for the repair, since we are able to see exactly how much pipe needs replaced, how deep the pipe is, and the location of the line in relation to buildings, landscaping, and other features of concern.
Finally, our sewer camera inspection capabilities are an invaluable tool when used in conjunction with the broad spectrum of septic, sewer, and drain services we provide.
Septic systems are buried underground and are sometimes difficult to locate. When a problem with the septic tank arises, the tank lid must be dug up and the tank pumped. Many people have no idea where their septic tank is. Those that claim to remember are often incorrect due to the length of time since they last had to dig it up. We can usually locate septic tanks quickly using basic techniques, but occasionally we are asked to service a tank that is very difficult to locate. When this happens, we are able to use our sewer camera inspection equipment and a locator to pinpoint the exact location of the septic tank.
There are many situations where a sewer camera inspection combined with sewer and drain cleaning services allows us to successfully complete jobs that would otherwise be impossible. We are able to view the end of our cable and the head, allowing us to retrieve object such as jewelry, silverware, or other items that have been accidentally dropped into the drain. We are also able to see and navigate our cable into drains that are difficult to access. Click here to view a video that shows how our sewer camera inspection equipment helped us retrieve a customer’s wedding ring from the sewer after it was accidentally flushed down the toilet.
Western Septic & Excavation uses our sewer camera inspection equipment in conjunction with our hydro jetting services to ensure that the job is done right. When hydro jetting it isn’t as easy to feel a problem like we can when using a cable snake machine. In a lot of cases it is importation to actually see what is happening with the jetter nozzle. We use our sewer camera inspection equipment to help us navigate the nozzle to exactly the right position. After cleaning, we can use it to verify that all roots, grease, sludge, etc. have been completely removed. Click here to see a video that shows how a sewer camera was used on one of our jobs to verify that roots had been removed from a clay sewer pipe.
Trenchless sewer repair
Our sewer inspection camera capabilities are a critical component of our trenchless sewer repair services. Prior to any trenchless sewer repair, the pipe must be inspected to verify that it is a candidate for a trenchless repair. We also take critical measurements and other information using our camera sewer inspection equipment. After repairing, the sewer cameras allow us to verify that the job was a success. Here is a video that shows before and after footage of a PipePatch No-Dig Pipe Repair in a drain under a slab inside a home.
