Quality Pipe Bursting

In search of trenchless sewer line repair services? Explore our pipe-bursting solutions covering all of southern Idaho. Pipe bursting, a trenchless sewer repair technique, involves digging small pits at each end of a compromised sewer line and pulling a new, seamless, heavy-duty pipe through the old one. This method is an ideal choice for comprehensive sewer line replacement. Rely on our expert sewer repair services!

Our equipment is provided by Tric Tools, the pioneering company that introduced the trenchless sewer repair method, including pipe bursting, in the 80s. We undergo training from the manufacturer on the pipe bursting process and the proper utilization of the equipment.

During the pipe bursting process, a cone-shaped bursting head is attached to the end of a seamlessly fused HDPE pipe. This assembly is then pulled through the old line by a robust puller, breaking the old pipe and creating space for the new one. Once pulled through, the new pipe is easily reconnected at both ends and backfilled.

This method requires only small holes at each end of the sewer line. The new pipe is resistant to roots and boasts an expected service life of 50-100 years or more. Unlike alternative trenchless sewer repair methods, pipe bursting doesn't merely rehabilitate the old line but completely replaces the entire system with minimal disruption to the property. For efficient sewer line repair and trenchless solutions, trust our services.

Professional PipePatch No-Dig Pipe Repair

Western Septic & Excavation uses the PipePatch No-Dig Pipe Repair system for repairs in pipes that only need one or more spot repairs in an otherwise good line. PipePatch repairs can be performed with no digging in most cases. The PipePatch method, also known as CIPP (cured-in-place pipe) point repair, uses a fiberglass patch that is impregnated with resin. The resin-soaked patch is wrapped around a specialized packer and inserted into the pipe through a cleanout, vent stack, or toilet flange using a series of push rods.

Once in place, the packer is inflated, pressing the fiberglass patch against the pipe wall as it cures. Once the packer is removed, the previously problematic spot is left with a smooth interior with a nice tapered transition on either end, preventing any ledges inside the pipe that could cause blockages. The patch adheres to the wall of the pipe and is stronger than most original pipe materials. We are factory trained and certified to install PipePatch repairs, which offer a 50-year manufacturer's guarantee.

The patch adheres to the wall of the pipe and is stronger than most original pipe materials. PipePatch can be used to repair any type of pipe and can repair elbows, offset joints, holes in the pipe wall, and even transitions between pipe sizes, such as through a 3" x 4" reducing coupling. We have even repaired 4" pipes through a 3" access point without digging.

PipePatch is a good option when an otherwise good sewer has a problematic joint or two that allows roots to intrude into the pipe, causing blockages. The roots can be removed, and a patch applied over that joint to permanently seal it from root intrusion. Other good applications for PipePatch include:

  • Cracked or broken sewer or drain pipes under slabs
  • Driveways, patios, or expensive landscaping cracked cast iron vent stacks
  • Multiple patches can be placed end to end to repair problematic pipes of greater length.
